Dracula

Hartswood Films’ “Dracula” was one of BBC One’s most anticipated television series of 2019 and security around every aspect of the production was essential to ensure that none of the content was leaked before broadcast.  Given Take 1’s reputation for secure transcription on other BBC productions and the company’s inclusion in the BBC Content Delivery book as a suggested transcription partner, it’s no surprise that Hartswood commissioned Take 1 to provide post-production scripts for this premium content.

Security is at the heart of Take 1’s product and workflow design and they’ve implemented various measures including two-factor authentication, network segregation and file encryption to provide maximum security for their customers’ content.  In 2018 the company received the DPP Committed to Security marks for both production and broadcast environments and they are currently working towards an accreditation from the Trusted Partner Network which is a joint venture between the Motion Picture Association and The Content Delivery & Security Association.  The recently launched Take 1 Cloud is a secure-by-design platform which the company developed in collaboration with an international media organisation to comply with the strictest security protocols in the industry.

With credits including “Sherlock,” Jekyll,” “Men Behaving Badly” and “Coupling” Hartswood Films have been producing award-winning dramas, light entertainment and documentaries since the 1980’s.   Based on the novel of the same name by Bram Stoker, “Dracula” was produced by Sue Vertue and Hartswood Films and co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.  The production premiered on BBC One on New Year’s Day and was broadcast over three consecutive days before being released on Netflix on 4 January 2020.  Take 1 also provided post-production scripts for the documentary spin-off “In search of Dracula with Mark Gatiss” which aired alongside the miniseries on BBC Two on 3 January 2020.
