Secure workflows for crime series “McMafia”  Security – and secrecy – were paramount when Take 1 was commissioned to provide post-production scripts for the hit drama series, “McMafia.”  While Take 1 has an excellent reputation for secure workflows, this project was further protected by being booked in under a pseudonym and team members were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements before encrypted media files were provided for transcription.  Once the media was received, Take 1 provided post-production scripts for both the BBC and Worldwide broadcasts, creating a bespoke script format which included a change-list to highlight the differences between the two versions of each programme.  The Take 1 team also demonstrated that quality doesn’t need to be compromised for speed as all scripts, including those booked in on a 24hr turnaround, underwent stringent QC checks before delivery. Produced by Cuba Pictures for BBC One and AMC, “McMafia” enjoyed enormous international success after its premiere in 2018.  The show was awarded the International Emmy® for Best Drama in 2019 and episode one was the most watched content on BBC iPlayer in 2018.  The eight-part series stars James Norton as Alex Godman, the British-raised son of a Russian mafia boss living in London whose father is trying to escape from the world of organised crime.  Created by Hossein Amini and James Watkins, the series was inspired by Misha Glenny’s best-selling book “McMafia: A Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld” and the second series is currently in development.
