Take 1 has helped leading sports brands make their content available to a wider audience by providing sports translations (including website translation services and digital marketing translations) and closed captioning services during lockdown.
When David Lloyd Leisure’s marketing manager needed a translation company to produce English to Dutch translations for their website, a colleague who had previously worked at the BBC recommended they get in touch with Take 1. After this initial job, where Take 1 were given six days to translate 12 000 words for the Dutch version of the company’s website, the digital product team at DL then approached Take 1 with a more pressing project which involved multiple languages. The leading health, sport and leisure group was launching an “at-home” page designed to keep customers active and entertained during lockdown and needed their new offer to be translated to reach clients in different regions. Take 1 provided professional translation into German, Italian, French, Dutch, Spanish and Catalan within a 1-2 day turnaround and, since then, has continued to provide the David Lloyd marketing and digital teams with translations for everything from terms and conditions to email campaigns and marketing messages. By using native speakers for each language and employing the same translators across all David Lloyd work, Take 1 has provided high-quality and consistent translations for the group, while varying turnaround times to suit the client’s needs and each project’s budget.
In addition to these projects with David Lloyd Leisure, during lockdown Take 1 also provided captioning services for Sport England and Five Live’s joint project, 10Today, which was designed to get older people moving; and subtitles in French, German, Spanish, Italian and English for a STRONG by Zumba campaign with Nicole Adams.
