Position: Production Assistant

Location: Take 1 Transcription, Santiago, Chile

Key objective:

We are looking for a Production Assistant to assist the Script Coordinator and Operations Manager in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all transcripts, post production scripts, translations and other deliverables to client.

Key Tasks:

  • Providing tailored quotes that best suit the client’s needs, in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Taking bookings from clients and accurately inputting all info into our database.
  • Continuous monitoring of individual job deadlines to ensure these are met within good time, and forward planning to chase freelancers or vendors if deadline delivery may be in jeopardy.
  • Approving transcripts, translations and other deliverables, having checked they meet the client’s requirements as stipulated on their booking forms.
  • Deal with in-bound queries from freelancers and 3rd party vendors about jobs.
  • Ensure job specific reference material is forwarded to the Production Coordinator ahead of the assigning process.
  • Prepare job costings and assist with invoice queries.
  • Deal with potential complaints, forwarding to Production Manager where necessary.
  • Adapting to flexible shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays if required. 

Required Skill Set:

  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English, native level or similar.
  • Proven customer service skills, ideally in a media environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to think quickly, multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
  • Self-motivation and proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent IT skills including ability to learn new software / programmes quickly; proficiency in Word & Outlook; and experience of Access and Excel preferred.  Experience with Xytech MediaPulse is an advantage.
  • A basic understanding of broadcast/digital video workflows and processes would be an advantage, although not essential.
  • Flexible team player.

Service Delivery Coordinator, Access Services

Position: Service Delivery Coordinator, Access Services

Location: Take 1 Transcription, Santiago, Chile

Key objective:

We are looking for a Service Delivery Coordinator to ensure the high quality of captioning and audio description client deliverables, whilst maintaining swift and professional responses to client enquiries.

Key Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating client bookings for Access Services work and booking into appropriate systems.

  • Liaising with client contacts regarding ongoing jobs, issues, and feedback, in a professional and helpful manner.

  • Oversee aforementioned client’s freelancers and third-party suppliers and deadlines; including working in conjunction with the UK based Access Services Co-Ordinator to organize suitable deadlines.

  • Work closely with the UK based Access Service team to arrange handovers at the end of their office day and provide detailed handover notes for them to pick up at the start of their next day.

  • Receiving caption files, AD Scripts and AD audio files and, in conjunction with the Media Services Team/s, check they meet the specification as stipulated by the client, prior to releasing to client and comparing to original client media when needed.

  • When needed (particularly when working outside of normal office hours) – dealing with individual issues as reported by freelancers or third-party suppliers across all areas of production.

  • Ensure links/resources/paperwork are used or forwarded promptly to the relevant recipient.

  • Carry out regular reviews of clients account workflows, processes and job skill guidelines, and propose potential areas of improvement.

  • Adapting to flexible shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays if required

Required Skill Set:

  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English, native level or similar. Excellent English language grammar and punctuation and high attention to detail.

  • Proof reading skills.

  • Excellent customer and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to keep calm under pressure.

  • Self-motivation and proven ability to work on own initiative.

Resource Assistant

Salary Range: Competitive

Position: Resource Assistant

Location: Cranbrook, with remote working

Key objective:

We are looking for a Resource Assistant to assist in resourcing and maintaining the Take 1 freelance resource pool in order to fulfil current and future business requirements.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • To respond to any shortfall of resource identified by executing the onboarding process.
  • To monitor freelance availability offered and follow up on any anomalies.
  • To be a central point of communication between Take 1 and the freelancers.
  • To maintain freelancer details/rates/job skills etc on the database

Required Skill Set:

  • Excellent IT skills including competency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work well with other departments.
  • Trustworthy with excellent people skills, as you will be handling confidential and sensitive information.

Media Services Technician

Salary Range: Competitive

Position: Media Services Technician

Location: Remote

Key objective:

We are looking for a Media Services Technician who will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing files are processed accurately and in a timely manner to help ensure the smooth running of the various production areas (Transcription, Access Services, Translation and Localization), and to assist with production troubleshooting and development of new processes and workflows.

Key Tasks:

  • Receiving and quality checking incoming media and other files from clients
  • Compressing and converting of client digital media
  • Logging of work items onto database (cross referencing instructions with booking forms and protocols)
  • Providing first line technical support to the various operational teams in relation to any client deliverables and system issues
  • Providing support for vendors, freelance resources and clients to troubleshoot any issues they are experiencing.
  • Sharing of Out of Hours Emergency Response cover with the technical team i.e., being on call one weekend in three.

Required Skill Set:

  • Experience of manipulating audio/video files and formats with a good understanding of broadcast and/or digital video/ftp technology.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based media workflows (AWS)
  • Knowledge of television production processes and advantage
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including ability to learn new software/programmes quickly; proficiency in Word & Outlook; and experience of Admin systems and Excel preferred.

Additional Information: Formal qualification in media technology preferred
